Crowdfunding 101

The University of Minnesota Foundation crowdfunding website provides U supporters with an easy way to create customized fundraising pages for U causes.

Step 1: Create your own fundraising page.

  • Start setting up your fundraising page by telling us a little bit about what you’ll be fundraising for.
  • Once we’ve reviewed your idea, we will send you a login for our website so you can finish building your fundraising page.
  • Submit your page for final review and approval. We’ll let you know when it’s live.

Step 2: Tell everybody about your fundraiser!

The most effective way to raise money is to email your networks. In addition, share your page on social media, use print marketing items, or add a link to your email signature. When promoting your page in social media, be sure to use #UMNGive.

Step 3: Watch the donations roll in and say thank you.

As each donation comes in to support your U cause, be sure to thank your donors promptly and share your appreciation. Because of you, lives are being forever transformed at the University of Minnesota.
